Wig Care
Washing Instructions:
GENTLY brush the wig thoroughly with a wig brush or wide tooth comb before washing.
Turn the wig inside out. You are cleaning the wig cap that comes in contact with your scalp.
Fill sink with cool water and add ½ teaspoon (dime size) of wig shampoo. Mix gently with the water. DO NOT MAKE EXCESSIVE SUDS.
Agitate GENTLY with your hand. You are cleaning the cap! DO NOT RUB OR SCRUB WIG FIBERS.
Drain water, refill sink with clean water. Immerse wig into water and agitate GENTLY. Repeat this until the water is clear, rinsing all the shampoo out of the wig.
Remove from rinsing and lay the wig on a bath towel. Roll up the towel and GENTLY PAT IT to remove excess water from wig. DO NOT TWIST/WRING THE WIG WITH YOUR HANDS! DO NOT COMB OR BRUSH A WET WIG.
Turn the wig right-side out, place on a wig stand to dry. DO NOT PUT YOUR WET WIG ON A STYROFOAM HEAD TO DRY OR TO STORE. (This could harbor bacteria/mold if the wig is wet/damp)
When completely dry, shake your wig, brush GENTLY with your wig brush/comb and put on your head to complete your style/look. Spritz with a wig styling spray, conditioner, balm, or oil to restore shine.
Use a warm, moist cloth, or detox spray and wipe out the inside of the cap of your wig every time you wear it. This is great between washings to help the life of your wig! Detox spray will reduce cap odor.
IMPORTANT DON'TS: THIS IS TO HELP MAINTAIN THE LIFE OF YOUR WIG!
Do not open a hot oven door, lean over a barbeque grill or open fire. Intense heat will melt the synthetic strands, bind them together, and it can easily singe the wig or melt it. *Synthetic wigs*
Do not dry the wig with a hair dryer or attempt to restyle with a curling iron or hot rollers.
Do not allow your wig to dry in direct sunlight. It can fade the wig or potentially damage it.
Do not swim in chlorinated or salt water with your wig on.
Do not use any non-wig products on your wig. Use products meant for the wig, only.
